Ah, I'm so behind on my blog.  Addie is 2 weeks away from being 6 months old! We have been so busy so I just haven't gotten the time to update as often as I'd like. Mostly because I am so tired at night I'd rather just go to bed!  So, I have some chocolate cupcakes in the oven and I thought I'd take this time to update how we are doing since my last post.
5 months
Weight: About 16 1/2 lbs
Height: About 26 inches
Clothing size: Anywhere from 6/9 mo to 12 mo

You are still sleeping all night long. You are such a happy baby. You usually get tired around 8pm and are asleep by 9. You are still sleeping in the pack/play next to Mommy & Daddy's bed.  This is because Mommy is having trouble letting you sleep in the crib next door like a big girl.  You wake up anywhere from 5am-7am and sometimes we snuggle together before we get up for the day. This is my favorite part of the day.  On my days off we will snuggle while Daddy is getting ready. On the days Mommy has to work I get up early so I can feed you and you usually hang out with me until  we wake Gigi up.

We have started giving you a sippy cup now. You are still learning how to suck on it.  You are trying to sit up. You can sit up for a few seconds but then you fall over. Your favorite toy is the jumperoo, but you also love your Vtech bear, and your octopus. You can roll all over the room now to get where you want to go.  It only takes a few seconds for you to make it to the other side of the playroom.

You have started doing so much lately. In June we started giving her cereal.  She loves to eat with a spoon. At first she wasn't sure what to think about it, but now she is a pro. She grabs the spoon out of our hands and puts it in her mouth all by herself.  She gets frustrated that there is no constant flow of food like there is with milk, so you have to be pretty fast.  Of course we make a mess at each meal.  One of her favorite meals is squash from Boompaw's farm.  Dad brought up a ton of squash and sweet potatoes from his garden and I put it all up in the freezer. I decided to puree it and see how she liked it.  She loved it! So far we have also tried green beans, peaches, and prunes. She wasn't a huge fan of the green beans, but she ate them for the most part.   She gets excited when she sees her spoon.  But when it's all gone, she starts to put up a fight and you have to redirect her to something else.  Here is a video of her eating cereal for the first time.  Addie eating cereal.

At the end of June we took our first beach vacation since Addison was born.  We were excited to get to show her the ocean.  We shared a condo with Derrick's family, Jamie and Serena, and Mom. It was a great trip. I don't think we've have a family vacation in about 15 years.  I had surgery on my foot in May and it was still healing so I wasn't able to swim with Addison for the first time in a big pool. Brandon took full advantage though and put her in everyday.  She loves to swim. Here are a few pictures.

4 Months Old!

Our little Addie is not so little anymore.  Here are your  4 month stats sweet girl!

Weight : 15 lb 9oz (75th percentile)
Height: 26 inches (90th percentile) ---->Daddy has the basketball waiting for you!
Clothes Size-some 3-6mo, 6-9 mo

I kept thinking, Gosh these clothes sure do run small.  HA!  I figured it out after a lady brought her daughter into my triage room at work.   She had her infant daughter with her.  I noticed how cute she was and figured she was about Addie's age and size. I said "What is she, about 4 months?"  The lady said, "No, shes 6 months, almost 7."  It hit me then, Addie is a little bit bigger than other 4 month olds! :) But that is okay, we love her little fat legs and chubby cheeks.

We see a lot of different family members in your face each day.  Sometimes I think you look just like me when I was a baby...other days I see Brandon or my brothers expressions on your face.

I am so grateful that I get to spend most days with you at home.  I am only working two days a week so I get to watch you grow and do new things each day.  Our day usually consist of waking around 8 on my off days.  I used to get up at 6 before you came along, but these days we snooze until your Daddy wakes up to go to work.  We usually get up and have a bottle.  Sometimes you will take a morning nap around 10.  We like to go outside and water the flowers. You still love the outdoors and love to look at the trees.  You sits in the bouncer while I work in the yard sometimes.  After a little run in with a scary pit bull a few weeks ago we don't let you sit in the bouncer unless you are in the backyard. We recently got a new privacy fence so I feel even better about us being outside.

We still have not put you in the nursery at church.  I guess we might start soon.  We did finally get a babysitter recently and we love her. She is our neighbor and is super sweet and does great with you

Developmentally you are doing great. You are reaching for things now after you see them and with great success!  You love to grab onto Mommy's hair, arm, and nose.  You grab onto your toys and most everything you put into your mouth.  You suck on your hands constantly.

You roll over from your back to your tummy, but can't get back over. You are holding your head up great while on your tummy..  You usually look around for a while before you get fussy.

We are still breastfeeding.  I usually breastfeed you and then give you a bottle.  You are up to a 4 ounce bottle now.  You used to hold only my shirt, and sometimes you still do while you feed. But now you like to hold onto one of my fingers very tightly while you eat.  You are starting to grab onto your bottle a good bit and can hold it up, but can't really do anything with it yet but assist! ;)

You are still sleeping though the night. You get ready to go to sleep around 8 and by the time we feed you and you fall asleep it's close to 9.  You still sleep in the pack/play next to my side of the bed. Two weeks ago we put you in the crib two nights in a row and you slept all night. But-Mommy had a hard time letting you be so far away.  So, you are back in our room.  You recently started rolling over onto your belly to sleep and this made me nervous. So I thought I'd give you a few more weeks.  Okay, I thought I'd give me a few more weeks.  Hey-it makes it easier to feed you in the middle of the night. :)

You are on your way to sitting up already.  If your hold onto my fingers you start to pull yourself up into a sitting position, but only make it about 1/8th of the way.  It won't be long.

You laugh all the time.  Anytime I smile at you you start to laugh and start usually pull your hands up to your mouth.  You kick your feet a lot when you giggle.  It's so cute.

You are definitely used to the camera. You have been incredibly patient while Mommy learns how to take pictures of you.  Sometimes I have to sing to you to bribe you to smile.  Your favorite song is I'm a Little Teapot.  I can almost guarantee a smile out of you if I sing that that.

You certainly have a sweetness about you.  Your smile lights up a room and I know you are going to grow into a caring, loving little girl.  I am sad that you are growing so fast but I am truly looking forward to all the wonderful times we have ahead of us as well.

We have our first beach trip coming up next week. I'm looking forward to playing with you in the pool and walking on the beach with you and your Daddy.
